Bryan Koontz, has over 30 year's experience in law enforcement and hospital security.   Prior to joining the staff at High Point Regional Hospital, Bryan was a a member of the Greensboro Police Department's bomb disposal unit responsible for the disarmament and disposal of explosive ordinance. He joined the staff at High Point Regional Hospital, High Point, North Carolina in 1985 as Director of Safety & Security where he currently serves in this capacity.

Professional Accomplishments:

• Participated in the first regional mass casualty exercise in NC - 2000 (Simulated Chemical Attack)
• Technical advisor to SAI on Hospital Bioterrorism Preparedness.
• Featured guest speaker on SAI's Hospital Bioterrorism Preparedness nation-wide audio conference. Program aired on January 22, 2003.
• Nationally recognized expert in healthcare safety / security.
• Past Member of the Board of Directors, NC Safety & Security Council
