    Questionnaire designed to assist healthcare facilities assess natural and man-made vulnerabilities, the key foundational element in creating the appropriate Emergency Preparedness Plan for the types of emergency situations that can reasonably be anticipated.

    Analysis identifying hazards that could affect the hospital's ability to function.

    PURPOSE - To lessen the severity and/or impact of emergencies caused by natural, man-made and/or technological hazards.

    An emergency preparedness program implemented for a variety of incidents both external and internal to the hospital that cause a major interruption of the hospital's normal operation.

    PURPOSE - Activation of this plan is designated to:

    • Receive/Triage casualties.
    • Provide emergency casualty care and treatment.
    • Continue necessary services for hospitalized patients.
    • Survey patients and discharge non-critical patients to provide additional beds.
    • Provide discharge and casualty information promptly.

    NBC Preparedness Response Plan - response to Nuclear, Chemical and Biological terrorism

      PURPOSE: Activation of this plan is designated to:

    • To treat and protect patients who have been exposed to biological agents, chemical toxins and radioactive materials.
    • To notify the appropriate staff and agencies to obtain the appropriate resources.
    • To assist with an epidemiological investigation to identify the source(s) of infection and identify the disease(s), agents or toxins, chemical agents or radioactive materials.
    • To reduce the spread of contagion or contamination.
    • To communicate with local agencies to coordinate patient management and associated activities.
    • To retain public confidence in the Health System's ability to respond to an NBC Terrorism event.
